After 27 Years, Kermit The Frog is Getting a New Voice
After 27 years, Kermit the Frog will get a new voice.
Actor Steve Whitmire is departing from the role, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and he’s leaving some big, green shoes to fill.
Whitmire was reportedly tapped by Jim Henson’s son to take over after Henson passed away in 1990. Whitmire also voiced the role of Ernie for many years. Now, actor Matt Vogel will give the iconic frog his personality.
Vogel has worked with the Muppets since 1996. He’s set to make his debut as Kermit in a “Muppets Through the Week” video shortly.
