Kanye Reveals Why They Named Their Daughter Chicago
As you may know, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West recently welcomed their baby daughter into the world, and the name they decided to go with for her raised a few eyebrows of fans.
If you didn’t know already, Kanye West grew up in the city of Chicago, Illinois, but was born in Atlanta, Georgia. They named their daughter Chicago, because of the effect the city had on Kanye as an artist and musician.
According to HotNewHipHop, Kanye’s mother, Donda, was a professor at the University of Chicago before she passed and the naming of his daughter is almost Kanye paying homage to his mother who had a strong connection with the city itself.
Chicago is healthy and has her parents glowing as they celebrate the birth of their daughter. Apparently, they are referring to her as “Chi” (pronounced shy) and are having a blast introducing her to friends and family.
