Fayetteville police found the 18-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound in a vehicle near Cliffdale Road.
He was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
According to ABC 11, the Fayetteville Police Department is searching for a person of interest and a vehicle of interest in connection with Howard's murder.
At this time, authorities are searching for a red, newer model Ford Fusion.
