ICYMI: Kendrick Lamar Wins Pulitzer Prize For ‘DAMN.’
That’s probably better than a GRAMMY, to be honest.
It was announced VIA Twitter yesterday, and it’s the first time that a mainstream hip-hop album has snagged the award!

In fact, it’s the first non-classical or jazz musical piece(s) to win. According to USA Today, the board called Kendrick Lamar‘s ‘DAMN.’ “a virtuosic song collection unified by its vernacular authenticity and rhythmic dynamism that offers affecting vignettes capturing the complexity of modern African-American life.”
Kung-Fu Kenny, indeed. Kendrick has not responded on Twitter as of yet, but considering he’s been tearing it up in the Coachella atmosphere with Vince Staples and SZA, we’re sure he’s a little busy.
