Man Shot Outside Food Lion In Fayetteville
A man was transported to a nearby hospital after being shot outside a Food Lion in Fayetteville on Friday evening.
According to ABC 11, it is believed the man was shot out of self defense.
At the time the shooting occurred, a 26-year-old man named Marquel White was exiting the store — Located on Rosehill Road.
White, was carrying his toddler daughter in his arms, when he was approached by an unidentified male.
The male had a knife in his possession, and reportedly was acting erratic — Swinging the knife in White’s direction.
That’s when police say White fired his gun at the man.
The man was rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the stomach.
Police are still investigating the incident, and are urging anyone who might have witnessed the shooting to come forward.
