Neighborhoods In Cumberland County Likely To Flood
Flooding From River Can Extend 1 Mile, Curfew in Place
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. –
Voluntary Evacuation:
Flooding from the Cape Fear River could extend as far as one mile from the banks of the waterway and residents are asked to take the voluntary evacuatiaon seriously.
Transportation to shelters:
Fayetteville citizens can call 910-678-7657 if they need transportation.
Curfew:
The City of Fayetteville has imposed a curfew within city limits from sunrise to sunset.
Unincorporated areas of Cumberland County are still under a curfew from sunset to sunrise until further notice.
CORRECTION TO “FLOODED NEIGHBORHOOD” LIST RELEASED AT PRESS CONFERENCE: The list of sub-divisions that was distributed incorrectly referred to approximately 75 neighborhoods that had flooded during Hurricane Matthew. Only 43 of those neighborhoods on that list experienced flooding during Matthew and those homes are listed below, some of which may be within the 1-mile radius of the Cape Fear River and covered under the Voluntary Evacuation edict:

· Arran Lakes West – from Fisher Rd. to Lakeway Dr. from Bingham Dr. to Lakeridge Dr.

· Arran Hills – from Bingham Rd. to Kincross Ave or Worthington Dr. from Strickland Bridge Rd or Kincross Ave. or Rutherglen Dr.
· Ascot 1 – from Ramsey St. to Girard Ave. or Ridgeway Dr.
· Ashton Forest (Wallace Pond) – from Hope Mills Rd. to Ashton Forest Rd or Redwood Dr
· Bone Creek – From Cliffdale Rd. to Bone Creek Dr.
· Brentwood Hidden Lake Loop – from Bingham Dr. to Bingham Pl

Approximately 3,364 PWC customers are without power. Sustained winds are above 35mph/ gusts-45 mph. Crews will not be responding due to wind speeds being above a safe limit for operating PWC equipment.
