Mandatory Evacuation Now Ordered For Parts Of Cumberland County
The Fayetteville Police Department has just issued a mandatory evacuation for parts of Cumberland County, including Fayetteville and Wade.
A message posted on their Twitter account indicates anyone who resides within one mile of the banks of Cape Fear and Little River needs to evacuate now.
As Tropical Storm Florence continues to drench the area with rain, flooding is a big concern.
The police department made no mistake about it, if you stay in your home in the evacuation zone, you are risking your life.
Officials warn the worst effects of the storm are still coming.
Everyone in the flood zone should be out of their home no later than 3 p.m. today.
In the event of a life-threatening situation, first responders may not be able to rescue you in a timely manner.
