Report: R. Kelly Charged With Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse
R&B singer-songwriter R. Kelly has been charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
The charges were placed this morning (Feb. 22) in Cook County.
According to records, the “I Believe I Can Fly” singer’s first court date is Mar. 8.
This afternoon, Kelly’s lawyer, Steven Greenberg said that he hadn’t been notified that the singer had been charged.
Cook County prosecutors are scheduled to appear in court this afternoon to receive an arrest warrant for the entertainer.
