Netflix to Upload Select Series Episodes Weekly Instead of Binge-Style
Netflix, the leader of binge-watching, seems to be shaking up the way it releases some of its programming.
As reported by ComicBook.com, the streaming giant is rolling out the new season of The Great British Baking Show in weekly episode installments instead of releasing an entire season at once. The first episode of the seventh season is out now with new episodes available every Friday.
Also being released in installments is the new rap competition series Rhythm & Flow that features Cardi B, Chance the Rapper and T.I. Rhythm & Flow, however, will be released in three and four-episode blocks beginning October 9.
Whether Netflix will adopt this method of release for future programs is currently unknown, but perhaps they’re doing their part to help subscribers improve their health since studies have come out saying binge-watching shows is actually bad for us for a variety of reasons.
