Matt Lauer Slammed by NBC News: ‘Conduct Was Appalling’
Matt Lauer was fired from the Today show in 2017 for rape and sexual misconduct, and NBC News has released a statement about the situation. Per Page Six, NBC says, “Matt Lauer’s conduct was appalling, horrific, and reprehensible, as we said at the time. That’s why he was fired within 24 hours of us first learning of the complaint. Our hearts break again for our colleague.”
The details of the alleged attack to Lauer’s former colleague, Brooke Nevils, will come out in a new book, Catch and Kill. As Nevils recalls, while in Sochi covering the Olympics, Matt Lauer anally raped her in a hotel room “even though she repeatedly told him she’s didn’t want to have sex.”
As Variety explains, Catch and Kill, written by Ronan Farrow, will also dive into his investigation of Harvey Weinstein.
Catch and Kill will be available October 15.
