John Legend & Chrissy Tiegen’s Super Bowl Ad Has Helicopter Edited Following Kobe Bryant’s Death
John Legend and Chrissy Tiegen’s original Super Bowl commercial has been edited out of respect for Kobe Bryant, as People reports.
Genesis, a brand of luxury vehicles that are owned by Hyundai, made a last-minute edit to remove a helicopter from the beginning of the commercial in the wake of Bryant’s tragic death.
“Today we re-cut our Super Bowl ad, to remove a stationary helicopter that was in the opening two seconds of the commercial,” a Genesis spokesperson told USA Today.
“The ad had been filmed, produced, and delivered well before Sunday’s tragedy, so we took down the spot out of compassion and sensitivity to the families.”
Before the ad was removed, the helicopter appeared sitting outside of a huge mansion as Legend and Tiegen showed up to a soiree that consisted of “old luxury” stereotypes.
