Lil Wayne Becomes First Person Unmasked and Sent Home On Fox’s ‘Masked Singer’
The Masked Singer hosts and onlookers from the audience looked on in shock as rapper Lil Wayne took off his robot head and revealed himself during episode one of season three of the singing show.
Weezy stood on stage with a wide joyful grin before dapping up host Nick Cannon, as the other hosts continued to look on with excitement. Wayne became the first person to be unmasked during the third season of the show. He was also the first person to be sent home.
“I did it for my kids,” Wayne said of the popular Fox TV show. The “A Milli” rapper described his experience on The Masked Singer as, “unexpected joy.” Lil Wayne is the father of four children, Reginae Carter, Dwayne III Carter, Cameron Carter, and Neal Carter.
Wayne spoke about how a lot of celebrities feel a way regarding having to remain anonymous while on the show. However, he said that “I didn’t get that feeling. The only thing I felt under the mask was it was heavy. It was all good. I still didn’t understand the whole being behind the mask and getting that feeling something different because you’re behind the mask.”
“It’s unlike any experience I’ve ever had musically or performance-wise!” Lil Wayne said. “I’ve never done choreography in my life. Unless it’s like for a wedding.” The Masked Singer airs on Fox on Wednesday at 8/7c.
