Pop Smoke’s Murder Appears To Be Targeted Hit, Not Home Invasion
As we previously reported, up and coming rapper Pop Smoke was murdered on Wednesday (Feb. 19) in a home that he was renting in Hollywood Hills.
It was reported that his murder appeared to transpire during a home invasion by four masked men. However, TMZ now reports that the Brooklyn native’s death wasn’t a robbery gone wrong, but a targeted hit that is supported by surveillance video.
People who watched the surveillance footage from outside of Smoke’s home told the publication that you could see four men approach the home around 4:30 a.m. and sneak around the back of the house.
A few minutes passed before three of the four men walked back up the side of the Hollywood Hills home and make their way to the front. The fourth person apparently walked in the backdoor which was out of view of security cameras.
That same person wasn’t seen again until he exited the front door of Smoke’s house. Multiple shots were fired inside of the home, only striking the “Dior” rapper.
Smoke was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. It was assumed that the incident might have been a home invasion because Smoke had shared a photo of a bunch of gifts on social media earlier that day.
One of the gifts that he shared on Instagram had his address visible on it. The rapper had also posted another photo hours before the fatal shooting took place of himself and a friend in a vehicle, and the friend is holding a lot of money.
