Toni Braxton Releases New Single ‘Do It’
As promised, Toni Braxton, released her new single “Do It” on Monday (Apr. 6). On Sunday, the Grammy Award-winning singer took to Instagram to announce that it was coming.
The somber but yet encouraging track is for those who are “sick and tired of it all,” and need to leave their relationship.

“No need to say you feel some kind of way/Just do what you need to do, do what you need to do/He ain’t gonna change/If you take him back, it’s gon’ be the same/Just do what you need to do, do what you need to do,” Braxton sings on the song.

The release of Braxton’s new single marks the seven-time Grammy Award winner’s first single after her new record deal with Island Records, as Billboard reports.
“It’s an honor and pleasure to welcome the incomparable Toni Braxton to the Island Records family. Her legendary catalog, unique sound, and extraordinary artistry continue to set her apart. We look forward to the world hearing the new music,” Island Records president/CEO Darcus Beese said in a statement announcing Braxton’s new record deal and single.

The vulnerable and emotional ballad was inspired by a friend of Braxton’s. “We have all been through situations like this when there is really nothing more to say,” notes Braxton in the Island announcement. “You know he’s not right and you just need to do what you need to do. There is also an element of hope in the song that after you do what you need to do, things will get better.”
