Scarface Placed On Dialysis While Fighting COVID-19
Scarface recently revealed that he’s suffered kidney failure and had to be placed on dialysis due to complications from COVID-19. The rapper was on a Zoom call with his fellow Geto Boy Willie D when the 49-year-old shared the update regarding his health.
Last month, Scarface tested positive for coronavirus and he relapsed causing the MC to be hospitalized again, as Rap-Up reports. “I’m glad to be alive,” Scarface said. “I fought the COVID double bilateral pneumonia, both lungs and kidney failure in my house. When it all went back to shit again, I went back to the hospital. I just got out of the hospital Monday [April 20].”
While showing his dialysis port, Scarface said, “That’s my new lifeline.” “I gotta change my entire diet, I gotta do dialysis four days a week, three hours a day. That’s taking all my blood out, cleaning it, and putting it back in my body,” Scarface explained.
Prior to testing positive for COVID-19, Scarface didn’t have any kidney issues. However, Scarface experienced intense symptoms while at home, fighting the virus.
“That three weeks, that month that I did in my house, was like hell, bro. I couldn’t keep food down, I couldn’t get comfortable, I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t stay woke, and like I said, I couldn’t breathe, bro. It was the worst time of my life,” Scarface added. The rapper lost “probably 30 pounds.”
“Hanging on that string of death makes you really appreciate life because I was inches away from death,” he said. “If you let the doctors tell it, they don’t know how I survived.”
