Baby Is Born With The IUD That Failed To Stop Mom’s Pregnancy
A baby in Vietnam just proved that if you set your mind to something, you can be unstoppable. Per the New York Post, the newborn was delivered at the Hai Phong International Hospital last month, holding his mom’s failed IUD.
“The failed contraceptive came out from the mother’s uterus alongside her newborn son. The baby then apparently took hold of the device in his nascent hands.”
The hospital’s head of the obstetrics department explains the incident, saying, “After delivery, I thought him holding the device was interesting, so I took a picture. I never thought it would receive so much attention.”

As the New York Post explains, the 34-year-old mother had the device inserted two years ago. She discovered a month into her pregnancy that her bundle of joy had bypassed the IUD.
They add, “IUDs are said to be 99% effective and last for years if properly functioning. The IUD may have shifted after insertion, thus impacting its contraceptive capabilities.”
