‘Captain America’s’ Message To The Boy Who Saved Sister From Dog Attack
Bridger Walker is getting a lot of praise right now after his heroic feat has gone viral. Per CNN, the six-year-old boy shielded his four-year-old sister from getting attacked by a German shepherd.
In a statement about the incident, it says, “Tragically, instead of running off, the dog leaped and latched onto Bridger’s cheek.” After a two-hour surgery and over 90 stitches, Bridger was asked by his dad why he jumped between the animal and his sister. He responded, “if someone had to die, I thought it should be me.”
Photos of Bridger and his sister have gone viral, and he is getting tons of attention online.

Afterward, Bridger’s aunt started an Instagram page and shared that he is an Avengers fan. She wrote, “I know it’s a long shot, but I’m reaching out to the Avengers and other heroes so that they can learn about this latest addition to their ranks.”
The aunt’s efforts didn’t go unnoticed, and Bridger got a video message from Captain America himself. “Pal, you’re a hero,” Chris Evans says in the video. He goes on to praise the boy for what he did to save his sister. He also promised to send Bridger an official Captain America shield.
The boy story has also gotten attention from Anne Hathaway. The actress wrote, “I’m not an Avenger,” although she did play Catwoman in the Christopher Nolan Batman franchise. “But I know a superhero when I see one. I can only hope I’m half as brave in my life as you are in yours, Bridger.”
She also tagged Mark Ruffalo (who played Bruce Banner/Hulk in the Avengers films) in her post.
