Raven-Symoné: Will She Join ‘The Real’?
Raven-Symoné was asked if she’d consider joining her former Cheetah Girls co-star Adrienne Bailon as a co-host on the talk show The Real, during a recent interview.“There are always conversations to be had, but I’m gonna stay true to what I’ve been setting goals towards during corona, and that’s to focus on my skills as a director and EP and a creator, and really take what I’ve learned in the industry and pass it along to people that are beginning,” Raven-Symoné said.
“But, I’ll never say no to a cool job. I don’t mind helping out where they need me to. As long as we’re corona safe, I’m down for the cause,” she added. Tamera Mowry-Housley recently announced on social media that she won’t be returning as a co-host of The Real. In a statement, Mowry-Housley shared that instead of returning to the show she’ll be “spending more time with my family, pursuing amazing new opportunities.”
If Raven-Symoné does end up as a new co-host of The Real, it wouldn’t be her first time as a talk show host. The actress and host joined The View in 2015 and was a co-host until she left the show in 2016 to focus on other endeavors.
Comedian and co-host Amanda Seales also recently announced that she would no longer be co-hosting the popular daytime talk show. During an Instagram Live session with a friend, Seales said, “Well, you know what happened to me today,” as she fluffed her afro.
“I’ve arrived because my contract is up at The Real and I did not renew it because it does not feel good to my soul to be at a place where I cannot speak to my people the way they need to be spoken to and where the people who are speaking to me in disparaging ways are not being handled.”
“I’m not in a space where I can as a full Black woman have my voice and my co-workers also have their voices, and where the people at the top are not respecting the necessity for Black voices to be at the top too,” Seales said.
