WE TV Announces Tamar Braxton’s Forthcoming Reality Show Is Postponed
On Tuesday (July 26), WE TV announced via Twitter and Instagram that Tamar Braxton’s forthcoming reality show, Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life! will be postponed. “Tamar Braxton has been an incredibly important member of the WE tv family for more than a decade, and our first concern is for her recovery and well-being. Given the current situation, we are postponing the premiere of Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life! until September 10,” the announcement read.
“This series was conceived by Tamar and is a real portrait of a dynamic woman juggling the demands of being a single mother, a new relationship and her career. We know, when the time is right, Tamar’s fans will relate to seeing this honest portrait of her life, but- at this moment- we are joining with her fans and sending strength and healing in the hope that she is getting the support and help she needs at this difficult time.”

On Instagram, some of Braxton’s fans responded to WE TV’s statement with criticism for the network. “It’s your fault,” one fan replied in the comment section, while another wrote, “She wants to end the contract she has with y’all…” “I’m still waiting for y’all to speak on the hell y’all was taking her through,” another fan replied. “Sometimes, it’s best to not comment WE TV,” another fan responded.
As we previously reported, earlier in July, Braxton was in stable condition but still unconscious, and was under 24-hour watch at the hospital after a possible suicide attempt, as The Blast reported. The “Love & War” singer was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after she was found unresponsive by her boyfriend David Adefeso. She was staying at the Ritz Carlton Residences in Downtown Los Angeles, near LA Live, according to sources.
Adefeso found Braxton “unresponsive” and dialed 911 to report that the singer and reality tv star had been drinking and had taken an unknown amount of prescription pills. According to sources, he believed Braxton attempted suicide.
The ambulance arrived at the residency and took the “Let Me Know” singer to California hospital in Downtown L.A. Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that they had received a phone call around 9:45 P.M. in regard to a 43-year-old female who had a medical emergency listed as a “possible overdose.”
According to The Blast, Braxton has been extremely emotional due to an ongoing contract dispute with WE TV. Braxton has been attempting to get out of her contract, as she believes that she has been treated unfairly for years.
Earlier in July, the trailer for Get Ya Life was also released, and according to The Blast, Braxton felt blindsided by it and hated the way it portrayed her. Earlier in the week, the singer vented her frustrations about her “Braxton Family Values” contract on Twitter, as we previously reported.
