WATCH: Nas Releases ‘Ultra Black’ Video
Nas has released the video for his latest single “Ultra Black.” The Spike Jordan-directed video begins with a young Black girl putting on sandals before Nas appears sitting a table in the kitchen of a home.
A young man then appears, tossing a basketball up in the air while laying down. Then a clip of a boy putting a tape in a Walkman appears. Hit-boy, who produced the track, then sits at the kitchen table with a baby boy in his arms while making a beat.
“Rhythm and blues, pop, rock to soul to jazz/’Til my toes are tagged (Uh)/How I look being told I’m not supposed to brag?/Nobody fault, I tell the truth, I know it’s facts, we ultra black/Grace Jones skin tone, but multi that/ Multiple colors, we come in all shades, mocha black,” the rap veteran raps.
The hip-hop icon dropped the video, less than a week after the release of his latest album King’s Disease. The video is a celebration of all things Black. Black designers Dapper Dan and Kerby Jean-Raymond (Pyer Moss) make a cameo in the “Ultra Black” video.
On Friday (Aug. 21), King’s Disease was released featuring a reunion with The Firm’s Foxy Brown, AZ, and Cormega. The album also features appearances from Big Sean, Don Toliver, and Anderson .Paak, among others.
As Rap-Up reports, Nas recently partnered with the Pantone Color Institute to launch his very own color, “Ultra Black By Nas.” The partnership also includes a special line of merchandise, which a portion of the proceeds will go to charity.
