Wendy Williams Slammed on Twitter For Coverage of TikTok Star
Wendy Williams, host of The Wendy Williams Show, is receiving backlash on her coverage of the 19-year-old TikTok star, Matima “Swavy” Miller, who died of a gunshot wound Monday.
During her “Hot Topics” segment, the TV show host made it known that she did not know who the TikTok star was,“I have no idea who this person is … neither does one person in this building.”
Trying to garnish laughs from her audience, the show producer compared “follower counts” with the 19-year-old and the media personality. She noted that the TikTok star has less followers than her on Instagram.
Twitter went into a frenzy with the now viral clip having almost 4 million views and thousands of comments on Williams’ delivery of the tragedy.
Look what Twitter has to say about the clip:

She & everyone in the audience are so disrespectful. Right after this she said “those poor followers” & everyone started laughing. Imagine his family seeing this? Absolutely disgusting. I can’t wait till I see that this show is getting canceled. should’ve happened a long time ago

“There’s only 5 seconds left nothing super crazy can happen in that time...” - Me at the 1:10 mark, being completely wrong.
