Dr. Dre’s Son Lands First Movie Role
Dr. Dre’s son is following in his father’s footsteps.
Curtis Young, 39, told TMZ that, “he’s not only starring in the new film, Charge It to the Game, but also composing original music for the movie.”
The 39-year-old posted some behind-the-scenes footage to this Instagram of some of his upcoming work to be debuted in the film.
Charge It to the Game is a coming-of-age story about four best friends navigating through life and navigating the obstacles in their path. Young plays one of the friends’ older brothers, Kong.
Julius Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s son, will be in the film, playing Young’s character’s younger brother. Nasir Dean, Swizz Beatz’s son, will also be in the film playing one of the four best friends.
Young’s first attempt at acting came when he auditioned to play his father in Straight Outta Compton but didn’t get the part. Although he didn’t get to play his father in the film, he says that “art’s in his blood” and will score the film alongside Nasir.
