Rihanna is the Wealthiest Woman in the World, Reaches Billionaire Status
Rihanna has just become the richest female musician in the world, and it’s not because of her music.
Per Forbes, the 33-year-old reached billionaire status mostly due to her cosmetics company Fenty Beauty and her lingerie company Savage x Fenty. When Rihanna (born Robyn Fenty) launched Fenty Beauty in 2017, she sought to create a cosmetics company that made “women everywhere (feel) included.”
Forbes estimates that Rihanna is now worth $1.7 billion, making her the second wealthiest female entertainer — next to Oprah Winfrey. Her Fenty Beauty fortune is valued at an estimated $1.4 billion, and she owns 50% of it. Meanwhile, Savage x Fenty rakes in about $270 million and the remainder of her earnings stem from her career as a chart-topping musician and actress.
Fenty Beauty products are known for their inclusivity, with their foundation available in a diverse range of colors and are modeled in its advertising by an equally diverse group of people. Fenty Beauty was one of the first brands to truly have a wide range of darker shades when all other companies didn’t offer that. Fenty Beauty is available online and at Sephora.
The cosmetics company is worth $2.8 billion, Forbes estimates.
Though we haven’t heard new music from Rihanna since her 2016 album, Anti, she seems to be doing well in areas other than music (but that doesn’t mean we don’t her to stop making music!)
