Chris Brown Calls On Billionaires To Help Haiti
Chris Brown has made a statement to his 93 million followers on Instagram calling on billionaires to help with the relief effort for Haiti.
“I hope everyone is seeing what is happening with the people of Haiti at the border!!!!!!!!!,” Brown wrote on his Instagram story per HotNewHipHop. “All the f—— billionaires in that state alone should be trying to help. We have no peaceful strategies… Hurding us up like cattle farmers… Hey everyone… Please take a f—— look at what’s going on!! Please!!!??????”
In the next two slides of his Instagram Story, the “No Guidance” singer posted migrants attempting to cross the Rio Grande river to get into the United States, and being treated brutally by border patrol.
Vice President Harris commented on the images that have surfaced of the migrants calling the crisis “horrible.”
“What I saw depicted about those individuals on horseback, treating human beings the way they were, is horrible. And I fully support what is happening right now, which is a thorough investigation into exactly what is going on there,” Harris said on Tuesday per CNN.
“But human beings should never be treated that way and I am deeply troubled by it and I’ll also be talking with (Department of Homeland Security) Secretary (Alejandro) Mayorkas later today about it,” Harris added.
United States Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas announced Monday that his department is continuing to investigate what is happening at the border. When asked if he thought was happening at the border was a “crisis,” Mayorkas described the situation at the border as a “heartbreaking situation” and a “tremendous challenge” per the outlet.
“I, by no means, diminish the humane issue that it presents, but I want to be clear that we do have a plan to address it, respecting the needs of the individuals and we are executing on that plan,” he said.
Mayorkas said US authorities have “moved approximately 4,000, perhaps more than 4,000 migrants, from under that bridge already,” and are moving more migrants, “very quickly to other processing centers so that we can ensure their security and safety and the security and safety of the community.”
He added, “We expect to see dramatic change in the next 48 to 96 hours.”
