Kanye West To Open Prep School In Honor Of His Mother Donda West
Kanye West is opening a prep school in honor of his late mother, Dr. Donda West, who was an English college professor.
The will be in California at a site 30 minutes from Los Angeles, CBS2 reported.
The official website states it will provide students “a world-class education that includes a rigorous core curriculum, and an emphasis on sustainability, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving,” making them the “next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators.”
Kanye already putting together an all-star basketball team to compete with LeBron James’ Sierra Canyon where his son Bronny James plays ball.
The Academy is backed by Ye’s Adidas brand Yeezy and already is starting to get together top players Jalen Hooks, Robert Dillingham, and Jakhi Howard, per the outlet.
“It’s just one of those things you can’t pass up,” Hooks told the Indianapolis Star. “It was more of a family decision, too. All of us just felt like it was a chance to reach my full potential and grow and get ready for the college level.”
According to Yahoo Sports, Donda Academy and Sierra Canyon — home of LeBron James’ son, Bronny James — are discussing a potential Staples Center meeting in February.
