Louis Vuitton Veteran Designer, Off-White Founder, Virgil Abloh Dead At 41
Virgil Abloh, a powerhouse fashion designer has died. He was 41.
Abloh who was the founder of the fashion brand Off-White and Louis Vuitton’s men’s fashionwear artistic director has died after privately battling cancer for several years.
The brand’s fashion house LVMH has released a statement on Twitter regarding the passing of Abloh.
“LVMH, Louis Vuitton, and Off White are devasted to announce the passing of Virgil Abloh, on Sunday, November 28th, of cancer, which he had been battling privately for several years.”
The statement adds, “We are all shocked after this terrible news. Virgil was not only a genius designer, a visionary, he was also a man with a beautiful soul and great wisdom. The LVMH family joins me in this moment of great sorrow, and we are all thinking of his loved ones after the passing of their husband, their father, their brother, or their friend,” said Bernard Arnault, chief executive of LVMH.

Ablo’s official Instagram account states that the designer was battling a rare form of cancer for a couple of years.
“For over two years, Virgil valiantly battled a rare, aggressive form of cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma. He chose to endure his battle privately since his diagnosis in 2019, undergoing numerous challenging treatments, all while helming several significant institutions that span fashion, art, and culture,” the post read.
Virgil is a longtime friend and collaborator of Kanye West.
