This North Carolina City Is the Most Fun City in the State
The Tar Heel State is a hub for lots of fun and entertaining things, but which North Carolina metro do you think is the most fun city?
The good folks at wallethub.com put together their rankings of the “most fun cities in the United States” and it turns out, maybe we aren’t as fun as we think we are. The highest ranked city in North Carolina was Raleigh, coming in at a disappointing No. 37 overall.
The top spots went to some obvious choices, with Las Vegas and Orlando in the top two positions (see the top 5 below).
What about Fayetteville and the rest of North Carolina fun city rankings? Well… it didn’t exactly get more entertaining. Here’s the rest of our major cities in their list of 182 metros:
- Raleigh – 37
- Charlotte – 55
- Durham – 71
- Greensboro – 90
- Winston-Salem – 96
- Fayetteville – 117
Fayetteville lost points for being ranked 139th in Entertainment & Recreation, and in 123rd in Nightlife & Parties. But Costs gave us a boost with a ranking of 47th.
All is not lost, as we’re still more fun than Toledo, Ohio and Anchorage, Alaska! And Pearl City, Hawaii took the last spot in the ranking, just below Brownsville, Texas.
Charlotte did rank highly in Most Park Playgrounds per Capita, coming in at a tie for best in the nation. And Durham was tied for 5th in Lowest Average Beer Price. Winston-Salem was No. 4 in Lowest Movie Costs, with most of the major California cities coming in at the bottom of those rankings.
