All Of The Astroworld Lawsuits Have Been Combined Into One Case
After nearly 400 separate lawsuits were filed against Travis Scott and Live Nation for the Astroworld tragedy that left 10 dead and dozens injured, it has now been signed off from a Texas court panel that all of the cases will be consolidated.
On Wednesday (Jan. 26), the Texas Judicial Panel On Multidistrict Litigation “granted joint motion from both victims and organizers to combine the sprawling litigation before a single judge for all pre-trial proceedings,” Billboard reports.
The 387 separate lawsuits represent 2,800 alleged victims and they are seeking billions in total damages. The lawsuits claim that Travis Scott, Live Nation, and other organizers were legally negligent in how they planned and produced the festival the outlet reports.
The order was issued last week and it was not disclosed which Texas judge will handle the case but attorneys for the victims and organizers have requested Judge Lauren Reeder. It’s unclear why Reeder was proposed.
