SZA Offers An Album Update: ‘It’ll Be A SZA Summer’
SZA has been teasing fans about when her sophomore album will be done and she finally has given a more specific timeline about the project’s release. The R&B songstress won over fans with her 2017 debut album CTRL and ever since then fans have been begging for more from the singer. And she says that her second album will be coming sooner than we think.
“[Now that the album’s] like ready to go, more than I’ve ever felt before,” she told Vogue during a brief interview at the Met Gala on Monday. “So, this summer, it’ll be like a…it’ll be a SZA Summer.”
SZA last provided an update on her next album at the Grammys where she won her first award for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” for “Kiss Me More” with Doja Cat: “It’s probably my most unisex project yet, if that makes sense. It’s for everyone,” she told Billboard.
The CTRL creator’s newest offering has been the extended version of her song “No Love” with Summer Walker and Cardi B which was originally on Summer’s Still Over It album that was released last year. The latest solo single from SZA was “I Hate U” which was released back in December and debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was previously released on SoundCloud in August of 2021 but garnered popularity on TikTok which prompted her to release it on multiple platforms.
