Diddy Explains His Name Change To ‘Love’ & What He Wants People To Call Him
If you’re confused by Diddy’s latest name change, his recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres might help you out. Sean Combs was first known globally as Puff Daddy, then Diddy, Brother Love, and most recently he changed his middle name to “Love.”
Ellen asked the rap mogul straight out, “What’s your name?”
“I decided that I am just going to go by the name Diddy,” he responded.
“See, Diddy is my nickname. Love is my real name. I just changed my name to Love. Sean Love Combs, that’s what it says on my driver’s license, that’s my official name: Love,” he added while also showing off his “Love” tattoo. “I’m Love… I wanted to make sure that if anybody didn’t get the message, they could see it. I love tattoos and I got that in one day.”
During his hosting gig for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards Diddy made sure to let the crowd know to spread “love” by chanting the phrase multiple times during the ceremony. However, in the rapper’s personal life the “spreading love message” got murky this week as two women he is allegedly involved with, City Girls’ Yung Miami, and model Gina Huynh exchanged some words over social media fighting over the rap mogul.
