Cardi B: ‘Invasion of Privacy’ Landing On Rolling Stone’s Top 200 Was ‘A Setup’
In a recent interview, Cardi B called out Rolling Stone; she felt that they were “setting her up” by putting her debut album Invasion of Privacy at #16 before Ye’s Yeezus, Lil Kim’s Hard Core, Nas’ Illmatic, and more on their Top 200 Greatest Rap Albums Of All Time that was published last month.
“They was dragging me like, ‘How dare they put Cardi before Nas?’ I was like, ‘Oh my goodness.’ I just woke up and I’m getting my ass dragged. I didn’t even ask for this,” Cardi explained.
Cardi expressed she understands that everyone gets mad when their favorite is not at the top but don’t act like people were not listening to Invasion of Privacy.
“You know, I understand that people feel a certain type of way. But don’t try to disrespect me or my work or my album because your mother was listening to my s—, your bitch was driving, listening to f—ing ‘Be Careful.’ All y’all bitches, all y’all h—. So it’s like, don’t even try it,” the rapper said.
The “WAP” rapper explained that she was “set up” by the publication and it’s not the first time she was used to cause some conversation. “Of course, they’re gonna use a bitch like me,” she said. “It’s gonna start a stir.”
“Yeah, it was like, a setup,” she added.”Rolling Stone, you trying to set me up. You got my a– dragged on a f—ing Tuesday for no reason.”
