Nicki Minaj Drops ‘Super Freaky Girl (Queen Mix)’
The remix to Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl” is here! Dubbed the “Queen Mix” for obvious reasons, Nicki recruits powerful “femcees” BIA, JT from the rap duo City Girls, Katie Got Bandz, Akbar V, and Malibu Mitch.
“Ayo, this the Queen Mix right here. Miami, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, New York … stand the f— up!” Nicki raps in the beginning of the remix.
Nicki teased the remix on Thursday but didn’t give away who would be on the track with her. “This remix tho,” she wrote on Twitter. “#QueenMix coming to collect her things. Soon come,” she continued with a video of a small snippet of the new intro.
She then added that the Barbz would be in for a surprise, “Also guys, this is part 1. There may be a part [2] #QueenMix,” she wrote.
JT tweeted how much in a better place she feels after the release of the “Super Freaky Girl” remix. “Haven’t felt like this since ‘in my feelings’ in 2018 before prison, I got out & never got my WOW moment, it became depressing….,” the rapper wrote. “I thought I would never feel excited & motivated again! This feel so good I’m so happy & I Deserve this.”
Nicki became the first female solo rap artist to debut on the Hot 100’s with “Super Freaky Girl” since Lauryn Hill in 1998 with “Doo Wop (That Thing),” per Billboard.
“You did it barbz,” Nicki penned to Instagram back in August. “You did it. I love you so much. like so so SO much. Thank you.”
Nicki later released the music video for the record on Sept. 1. She costars in the visual with Canadian actor Alexander Ludwig.
Nicki performed the hit at the MTV VMA’s where she was honored with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Video Award. She joins Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, Kanye West, Britney Spears, Rihanna, P!nk, Jennifer Lopez, and Missy Elliott who are past recipients of the award.
