(Photo by Mike Coppola/Getty Images)Jack Harlow allegedly was not trying to talk to the press last night during the Met Gala. According to a New York Times reporter, Harlow allegedly mouthed “I’m on shrooms” to the press who tried to speak with him.
Fans don't think the rapper actually was on "shrooms." Harlow has been an advocate for sobriety for a couple of years now but his fans think that he used it as an excuse for not wanting to talk to the press.
In 2021, he announced that he "hasn't had a sip of alcohol" that year. "Going the rest of the year without it. Maybe I’ll never take another sip, who knows?” he wrote.
He added: "My favorite vice was definitely drinking (I don’t like to smoke) but if I learned anything this year it’s that I don’t need it. I don’t usually say a lot in my captions because it feels like anything worth telling y’all I should just put in my songs…but today felt like a good time for a life update. I’m really grateful for how far we’ve come and I want you to know I appreciate all of you. But I’m hungrier right now than I’ve ever been. I’m prepared to become a well-oiled machine to take this shit to the next level. See you soon."
RELATED: Jack Harlow Drops New Album 'Jackman'
Harlow's Met Gala appearance follows the recent release of the rapper's album Jackman. The 10 track-LP is the Kentucky native's third studio album which dropped Friday (April 28).
The rapper named the album after his full first name, which is, in fact, Jackman. The project is only 24 minutes and is the definition of a solo effort since the "First Class" rapper did not have any featured artist on the album.
The album came as a complete surprise to fans as Harlow announced the project just two days before the release date. He dropped the announcement on social media with the album artwork featuring a shirtless Jack.
The rapper just dropped the visual for "They Don't Love It" Monday (May 1). Check it out below:
Fashion's hottest night of the year is back. The 2023 Met Gala took place Monday night (May 1). This year's event pays tribute to the late designer Karl Lagerfeld, who was the creative director of the French fashion house Chanel. The exclusive event is intended to honor the iconic fashion designer, who passed away in 2019 from complications of pancreatic cancer.
Lagerfeld helmed some of the most recognizable fashion houses in the world (Chloé and Fendi) in his 65 years in fashion. Attendees are required to honor Karl's fashion influence, which is wide open to interpretation, given his long and varied career that spans various luxury brands and eras of fashion (from the 1950s to his last collection in 2019).
The lineup includes longtime Chanel collaborator Penélope Cruz, actress and writer Michaela Coel, singer Dua Lipa and tennis legend Roger Federer. Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who had a close friendship with the designer, was there as always.
"Karl was so much more than our greatest and most prolific designer," Anna said in a statement after Karl's passing. "His creative genius was breathtaking and to be his friend was an exceptional gift. Karl was brilliant, he was wicked, he was funny, he was generous beyond measure, and he was deeply kind. I will miss him so very much."
See below which stars honored Karl's legacy and the ones who have him rolling in his grave from their bad fashion choices.
Worst: Roger Federer and Mirka Federer
Jamie McCarthy/Getty ImagesThe tennis legend's wife added one feather too many to this baby pink ensemble and looks like a plucked chicken.
Worst: Emma Chamberlain
Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for The Met Museum/VogueThe internet personality's sequined undershirt and white calf socks turn this powder blue look to be a cheesy one.
Worst: Cara Delevingne
Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for The Met Museum/VogueThe model's silver hair looks completely fried, her top looks like a tablecloth, and we don't understand the reason for the thigh-high leg sleeves...
Worst: Jared Leto
Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesKnown for doing something unnecessarily dramatic at each Met Gala, the actor wore a giant catsuit. Just goofy.
Worst: Emily Blunt
Jamie McCarthy/Getty ImagesIt's a sad day when Emily Blunt is not one of our best dressed. This Marc Jacobs look is busy, boring, and does nothing for her figure.
Worst: Ariana DeBose
Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for The Met Museum/VogueThough the citrine color is lovely on her complexion, the utility-style fur-trimmed jacket is so busy and doesn't match the elegance of her fishtail skirt.
Worst: Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin
Jamie McCarthy/Getty ImagesThe designers looked chaotic despite wearing only black and white.
Worst: Rami Malek
Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesUnfortunately for the actor, we can easily mistake him for being someone's butler at the fashion event.
Worst: Ben Platt
Jamie McCarthy/Getty ImagesThe actor also looked like the help, but fabulous with chain detailing.
Worst: Jenna Ortega
Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesThe 'Wednesday' star's outfit is just too busy. Her hair being down does not help trying to figure out what is going on: from her oxford heels, to her shin socks, layered tweed gown and collared bow.
Worst: Sydney Sweeney
Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesThe actress went for a sweet style, but it is so boring and the black bow at her knee doesn't make it look any better.
Worst: Kendall Jenner
Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesKendall's collared, sequined bodysuit proves that being a model doesn't guarantee good fashion choices. She looked like she was attending a superhero film's red carpet.
Worst: A$AP Rocky
Jamie McCarthy/Getty ImagesThe rapper looks like he got dressed in the dark and accidentally grabbed RihRih's skirt. Not sure what he was thinking here, but sometimes more is just too much.
Worst: David Byrne
Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for The Met Museum/VogueIn all-white as per usual, the eccentric singer-songwriter accessorized with a bright pair of sneakers and a bike!
Worst: Serena Williams
Jamie McCarthy/Getty ImagesSerena's top half of her gown is too structured and boxy that it doesn't flatter her figure.
Worst: James Corden and Julia Carey
Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesJames' blue blazer makes it look like he's attending a gender reveal party. His wife Julia does look stunning though.
Worst: Lea Michele
Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for The Met Museum/VogueThough the actress' hair and face are gorgeous, we don't like the bow on her very rigid silver gown.
Worst: Ice Spice
Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for The Met Museum/VogueThough her camera prop is cute, the rapper played it safe with a white gown with nude stripings.
Worst: Olivia Wilde
Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Karl LagerfeldOlivia wore this remake of an 80s Chanel dress and this Cleopatra look and arm bands make everything look too costume-y.
Worst: Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre Elba
Jamie McCarthy/Getty ImagesNever would we have ever thought Idris would make out worst dressed list, yet here we are, and his wife is there to join him. We don't like the shape of his long blazer, and his wife joins him with her puffed skirt.
Worst: Kim Kardashian
Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesKim's outfit feels incomplete with what looks to be shapewear covered by pearls.
Worst: Bad Bunny
Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesThe all-white suit and rose train was quite boring coming from the rapper, who we usually anticipate bright and bold looks.
Worst: Christina Ricci
Jamie McCarthy/Getty ImagesThough we love the actress' purse, her gown is looking a little too much like the Tin Man from 'The Wizard of Oz.'
Worst: Vanessa Hudgens
Jamie McCarthy/Getty ImagesThe bows on her gown and the shoes the actress wore were very boring and not memorable. We wish she took a bigger risk with her look tonight.
Worst: Quinta Brunson
Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesThough the gown is so gorgeous and dainty, Quinta's small stature gets swallowed with the long gown and train.
Worst: Margot Robbie
Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesThough we appreciate a fresh face, Margot's red carpet look was lackluster. We were expecting more pizzazz from the 'Barbie' star, and this black gown with a clear corset was pretty boring.
Worst: Penélope Cruz
Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesThough she looks stunning, the actress' white gown and veil is too much like a wedding dress.
Worst: Jessica Chastain
Jamie McCarthy/Getty ImagesUnrecognizable as a blonde, the actress shed away her unique look for something much more boring.
