Fans speculated that Ice Spice might be on the album as she responded to Nicki’s album announcement with the “see no evil” emoji. The two recently collabed for the , which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Besides Nicki’s remix with Ice Spice, the Queens native hopped on and most recently she added to Sexyy Redd and Tay Keith’s “Pound Town 2.” That track debuted at No. 66 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Her only solo offering of the year was “Red Ruby da Sleeze.” It debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March and uses elements of Lumidee’s 2003 hit “Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh).” Nicki is no stranger to flipping classics. Last year, she got her first Hot 100 No. 1 solo hit with “Super Freaky Girl,” which sampled Rick James’ 1981 song “Super Freak.”
Nicki has also been tapped on the soundtrack of the upcoming Greta Gerwig-directed Barbie film starring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Will Ferrell, Kate McKinnon, Emma Mackey, Simu Liu, Micheal Cera, Issa Rae, and more. The trailer is soundtracked by Nicki Minaj’s chart-topping hit “Super Freaky Girl.” Nicki’s “Princess Diana” collaborator Ice Spice, and Lizzo are also billed for the soundtrack. The theatrical release date is set for July 21.
Nicki previously teased her album and tour last month.
“Oh yes fractions warned, SFG did what fractions warned. Red Ruby Da Sleeze MOTHERED so hard & is now the standard. NM5 is the best thing that will come out of 2023 & will raise the bar to new & unreachable heights. NM5 tour will be hailed as ‘genius’. That’s it & that’s all,” Nicki tweeted Wednesday (May 10).
Minaj’s upcoming fifth studio album will come five years after 2018’s Queen, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
