Drake Wants To Make Toronto ‘Proud’ As He Begins Tour
Drake is bidding Toronto farewell for now as he is about to head on tour with Her Loss collaborator 21 Savage this summer. In Drizzy’s latest Instagram post, he says he wants to make his home city “proud.”
“Goodbye my beautiful city,” he wrote on his Instagram Story on Monday (June 12) with a photo of a sunset behind the CN Tower. “I haven’t left for this reason in over 6 years but I hope I can make you proud once again. I love you all. Have an amazing summer and pls try to take care of each other. See you in October.”
The It's All A Blur Tour is set to start on June 29 in Memphis and end in Toronto in October. The tour is in support of Drake and 21’s No. 1 album Her Loss, which dropped in November.
Drake has had a couple of live performances this year as he co-headlined J. Cole’s Dreamville Festival and surprised Lil Wayne fans in April when he opened up for Wayne in Toronto as part of his Welcome to Tha Carter Tour.

In other Drake music news, the rapper was recently featured on London rapper J Hus’ new song “Who Told You.” The track was released Thursday (June 8). This is Drake’s second music offering of 2023. He released “Search & Rescue” back in April.
Later this month, the Toronto rapper is up for seven BET Awards, the most nominated artist this year. He is nominated for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Best Male R&B/pop Artist, Best Group with 21 Savage, and Album of the Year for Her Loss with 21 Savage. He is also nominated for the Viewer’s Choice Award for “Jimmy Cooks” with 21 and for his assist on Future’s “Wait For U,” with Tems, with the latter also being nominated for Best Collaboration. The show takes place Sunday, June 25, at 8 p.m. ET.
