Coi Leray: How She’d Handle A Feature Request From Eminem
Coi Leray is her own person. Despite her father Benzino having called Eminem out over his Rock Hall of Fame nomination, the 26-year-old artist wants to make her own decisions regarding her career including who she wants to collaborate with.
However, the beef between Benzino and Eminem started way before the Rock Hall nomination. It began with Benzino leaked audio of Eminem using the N-word when he was a teenager after he had a breakup with a Black woman. The two rappers then took it to the booth where they recorded diss tracks at one another. The bad blood then erupted once again when Eminem was announced as one of the nominees for the 2022 class of the Rock Hall of Fame when Benzino tweeted his two cents on the matter.
“They have no respect for our culture, Black or Hip Hop and if you don’t agree, you’re racist, period point blank,” Benzino tweeted at the time.

Coi however, did not take the same view as her father and praised Eminem for his contributions to hip-hop culture.
“I’m about love, equality, respect, and forgiveness… I have nothing against Eminem, 25 years of my life all I know is he a very talented artist and actor! (8 Mile was great). Let’s build bridges and get over them before you burn the bridge and burn with it,” she I’m about love, equality, respect and forgiveness. In a recent interview with Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast, she was asked how the rivalry between Eminem and her father has affected her.
“I know that anything that has to do with Eminem, I don’t have nothing to do with those times,” she said regarding her position on the matter. “So don’t involve me in them. I’m my own person, you feel me? Don’t do that.”
She also proceeded to explain how she would handle a potential collab with Eminem.
“I would sit down with my father, first of all, and bring it up to him,” she said. “I wouldn’t even ask. I’d be like, ‘Yo, listen. This is what happened. I’m not even expecting an answer. I just need to tell you right away.'” The artist also added, “Me and my father could never be speaking for f—— years. If that was to happen, I’d be like, ‘Hold on, let me just tell you this. Let me bring it to your attention.’ hopefully, he’ll be like, ‘Yo, you know what? Do it.'”
She also doubled down on the respect she has for her father.
“Imma ride for my father regardless, ’cause he’s my father,” Leray declared. “I don’t give a f— what anybody says.”
