Powerball and Mega Millions Go Over $1 Billion Combined in North Carolina
North Carolina, your shot to win big is HUGE this weekend, as the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots have climbed to over $1 billion combined!
The Friday night Mega Millions is worth $450 million as an annuity – or $225.6 million if you go the smart, cash route. And the Powerball number is now over $615 million annuity – or again, the smart money of $310.6 million in cash.

The Powerball number is one of the highest in history, falling just outside the top 10 ever.
According to the North Carolina Education Lottery, big wins came on Wednesday in the Powerball drawing from NC:
- The $100,000 win occurred in Mocksville in Davie County with a $3 ticket purchased using Online Play
- The $50,000 win occurred in Denver in Lincoln County with a $2 ticket purchased at Fairgrove Food Shop on North N.C. 16
“The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million. The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302 million.”
