Drake’s Dad Defends Son Amid Joe Budden Criticism
Drake’s dad has his son’s back. Joe Budden came for Drake’s newest album, For All The Dogs, in a now-viral video from his podcast.
“[Drake is] rapping for the children,” Budden said on his podcast. “I had to look up how old this n—- was when I finished listening to the album … You gonna be 37 years old. Get the f— away from some of these younger n—–, and stop f—ing these 25-year-olds. … Why are you still f—ing the 25-year-olds? You’re a 37-year-old billionaire.”
He then compared Drake to J. Cole, who changed what he rapped about as he grew. “Cole used to rap about kid s— … And then he started to grow up. And then the rapping sounded like an adult rapping. I want to hear adult Drake rapping for adult people. That’s my issue with him today.”
However, Dennis was not taking Budden’s criticism of his son lightly. Drake shared a new photo of himself from his tour with a caption that seemingly came for Budden. “I thank god for this life and not having to come to rushed conclusions on Best Buy podcast mics,” Drake wrote in the caption.
“It’s a f—ing shame that a young artist can’t do his own thing and enjoy his glory without an old hater motherf—er trying to bust his bubble because he has nothing going on,” Dennis wrote in the comment section defending Drake.
He continued, “And to mention or put a limit on what age anyone should be dealing with which is none of his goddamn business as long as they’re of legal age, I am sick of these old f—ing haters f—ing with my son, if you don’t like what he does keep it moving motherf—er, he’s not bothering you.”
Drake Claps Back At Joe Budden
Drake also came for Budden after his comments.
“You have failed at music,” Drizzy wrote under a post from DJ Akademiks that featured a clip of Budden talking about Drake. “You left it behind to do what you are doing in this clip cause this is what actually pays your bills. For any artist watching this just remember you are watching a failure give their opinion on his idea of a recipe for success…a quitter give their opinion on how to achieve longevity…”
He continued, “You switched careers cause the things that pop into your brain had you broke living cheque to cheque and the raps you write had 450 men showing up to your shows in dusty Enyce jeans to screw up their face to Mood Muzik 29 and pretend you are the goat.”
Budden clapped back writing, “@champagnepapi you’ll grow up sooner or later,” Joe Budden typed. “Father time is undefeated.”
