Kendrick Lamar Finally Releases Drake Diss Track ‘Euphoria’

Kendrick Lamar has finally responded to Drake's diss tracks with "Euphoria." In the beginning of the song in a hushed tone, Kendrick brings up Drake's acting past and seemingly knocks all of the trolling he has been doing in the past week as having some kind of episode: "Them super powers getting neutralized I can only watch in silence/ The famous actor we once knew is looking paranoid and now is spiraling.”

“Know you a master manipulator and habitual liar, too/But don’t tell no lie ’bout me, and I won’t tell truths ’bout you,” Kendrick continues debunking past statements Drake has made about him in this feud.

He also mentions Drake's past feud with Pusha T and how Pharrell got caught in the crossfire on "Meltdown" with Travis Scott. Drake has had a longstanding beef with Pusha T since 2018 and fans were surprised when he came for Williams: “I melt down the chains that I bought from yo boss/ Give a f--- about all of that heritage s---/ Since V not around, the members done hung up the Louis/ They not even wearing that s---,” alluding to Williams' chains that Drake is seen wearing in the music video for “Jumbotron S--- Poppin”

“I don’t like you popping s--- at Pharrell, for him I’ll inherit the beef/ Yeah f--- all that Pushin’ P, lemme see you Pusha T/ You better off spinning again on him before you think about pushing me/ He’s Terrence Thornton, I’m Terence Crawford, yeah I’m whooping feet,” Kendrick raps in defense of Williams.

Kendrick brings up Gunna who has been accused of being a "rat" in the Young Thug case and warns that he has information on Drake as well: “We ain’t gotta get personal, this a friendly fade, you should keep it that way/ I know some s--- about n----- that would make Gunna Wunna look like a saint/ This ain’t been about critics, not about gimmicks, not about who the greatest is/ Always been about love and hate, now lemme say I’m the biggest hater.”

One of the more petty bits in Kendrick's diss is him telling Drake he just hates everything about him including the women he dates: “I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk, I hate the way that you dress/ I hate the way that you sneak diss, if I catch flight it’s gonna be direct/ We hate the bitches you f--- ’cause they confuse themselves with real women/ And notice I said ‘we,’ it’s not just me, I’m what the culture feeling.”

Drake's fatherhood has been used in diss tracks before and most notably when Pusha T outed him having a son on "The Story of Adion" so Kendrick also made sure to call him out on that as well: “Y’all thinking my life is rap? That’s h- s---, I got a son to raise, but I can see you know nothing about that.”

On Drake's "Taylor Made Freestyle" that was aimed at Kendrick, he uses an AI version of late Tupac Shakur. While Kendrick doesn't mention the exact way in which the Canadian rapper used Tupac in this feud, Kendrick gets his point across that Tupac would be disappointed.

"Somebody had told me that you got a ring, on God, I’m ready to double the wage/ I’d rather do that than let a Canadian n---- make ‘Pac turn in his grave," Kendrick raps referring to the million dollar ring Drake purchased from Tupac's estate last year.

It's not a surprise that Kendrick managed to slip J. Cole into the diss as his line on "First Person Shooter" referring to K. Dot, himself, and Drake was unknowingly the start of a rap civil war. "Cole and Aubrey know I'm a selfish guy, the crown is heavy/ I pray they my real friends, if not, I'm YNW Melly," Kendrick raps referring to the "big three" statement but also YNW Melly is on trial currently for allegedly killing two of his close friends.

Kendrick also exposes Drake for asking to work together: “Surprised you wanted that feature request, you know that we got some s--- to address/ I even hate when you say the word ‘n----… but that’s just me, I guess.”

The Compton native also addresses Drake's Blackness as the rapper is biracial which is something that Rick Ross repeatedly brought up on his diss track to Drake "Champagne Moments" by mocking him and calling him "white boy."

“How many more fairytale stories about your life ’til we had enough?/ How many more Black features ’til you finally feel that you Black enough/ I like Drake with the melodies, I don’t like Drake when he act tough/ You gon’ make a n---- bring back Puff, let me see if Chubbs really crash something,” Kendrick raps.

While Cole was the one who brought up Kendrick's discography on "7 Minute Drill" which he later apologized for and removed from streaming services, he made sure to tell Drake that his discography is overhyped by his fanbase and also gave one more jab at the rumor Drizzy got cosmetic surgery: “Yeah my first one like my last one, this a classic, you don’t have one/ Let your core audience stomach that, then tell ’em where you get the abs from.”

In Kendrick's last few lines he propels himself to the top and dismisses the other artists such as Rick Ross, A$AP Rocky, Future, Metro Boomin, and The Weeknd who have gotten themselves into the mix: “Ain’t 20 v. 1 it’s 1 v. 20 if I gotta smack n----- that write with ya” he raps and lastly warning Drake, "We don’t wanna hear you say n---- no more."

Kendrick Lamar dropped "Euphoria" on Tuesday (April 30) with scathing bars coming from the Compton native. Kendrick kicked off the rap civil war with his verse on "Like That" from Metro Boomin and Future's joint album We Don't Trust You.

"Yeah, get up with me, f--- sneak dissing/'First Person Shooter,' I hope they came with three switches," Kendrick raps.

He adds, leaving no room for confusion: "Think I won't drop the location? I still got PTSD/Motherf--- the Big 3, n----, it's just big me."

"N----a, bum, what? I'm really like that/And your best work is a light pack/N----, Prince outlived Mike Jack'/N----, bum, 'fore all your dogs gettin' buried/That's a K with all these nines, he gon' see Pet Sematary n----, bum," he raps.

Drake responded to Kendrick with "Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50)" and also mocked Kendrick's size with the cover art containing his alleged shoe size. It also references his line in the song, "How the f--- you big steppin' with a size 7 mens on?"

After the shoe line Drake continues: "Your last one bricked, you really not on s--- / They make excuses for you ’cause they hate to see me lit / Pull your contract ’cause we gotta see the split / Ain’t no way you doin’ splits bitch your pants might rip."

Drake then came for Kendrick's guest verses on pop songs and how he had to keep making the verses to please his former label Top Dawg Entertainment.

"Maroon 5 need a verse, you better make it witty / Then we need a verse for the Swifties / Top say drop, you better drop and give him 50 / Pipsqueak, pipe down / You ain’t in no big three, SZA got you wiped down, Travis got you wiped down, Savage got you wiped down / Like your label boy, you Interscope right now," he raps.

Drake managed to diss Kendrick again on "Taylor Made Freestyle" with the help of AI versions of Snoop Dogg and the late Tupac Shakur. The song however, was taken down following a demand to do so from Shakur's estate.

"Kendrick, we need ya, the West Coast savior/Engraving your name in some hip-hop history," AI Tupac raps in the opening verse. "F--- this Canadian light-skin, Dot/We need a no-debated West Coast victory, man."

Next up is AI Snoop Dogg who questions Kendrick's past, "I know you never been to jail, or wore jumpsuits and shower shoes/Never shot nobody, never stabbed nobody/Never did nothing violent to no one, it’s the homies that empower you/But, still, you gotta show this f------ owl who's boss on the West/Now’s a time to really make a power move," the voice raps in the second verse.

In the last verse, Drake comes for Kendrick himself not using AI. Drizzy alleges that Kendrick is waiting to drop his diss track because Taylor Swift -- who Kendrick has collaborated before on "Bad Blood" -- dropped her double album The Tortured Poets Department on Friday (April 19) and he wants the chance to go No. 1. The "Rich Baby Daddy" hitmaker also admitted he's moved music releases around Swift's drops.

"But now we gotta wait a f------ week ’cause Taylor Swift is your new Top/And if you ’bout to drop, she gotta approve." He adds later, "Yeah, shoutout to Taylor Swift/Biggest gangster in the music game right now/You know, I moved my album when she dropped."

But today, Kendrick's response, "Euphoria," was devasting. Take a look below at seven bars he must respond to on Kendrick's diss "Euphoria."

One of the lines Drake has to address from "Euphoria" is Kendrick saying that he hates everything about him. The Compton native raps: "I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk, I hate the way that you dress/ I hate the way that you sneak diss, if I catch flight, it’s gon’ be direct/ We hate the bitches you f---, ’cause they confuse themself with real women." Drake referred to this line hours after the diss track dropped on his Instagram Story. The Canadian rapper reposted a scene from the 1999 film 10 Things I Hate About You where Julia Stiles' character is reciting a poem about her crush Heath Ledger. In the poem Stiles reads: "I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair/ I hate the way you drive my car. I hate it when you stare. I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind. I hate you so much it makes me sick; it even makes me rhyme! I hate it, I hate the way you’re always right. I hate it when you lie. I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry. I hate it when you’re not around, and the fact that you didn’t call." Another line that attracted the intersst of fans was Kendrick name-dropping Gunna. Kendrick insinuates that he has some dirt on Drake and is willing to spill it like some fans and rappers have assumed Gunna ratted out Young Thug for his December 2023 plea deal. Kendrick raps: "We ain’t gotta get personal, this a friendly fade, you should keep it that way/ I know some s--- about n----- that would make Gunna Wunna look like a saint/ This ain’t been about critics, not about gimmicks, not about who the greatest is/ Always been about love and hate, now lemme say I’m the biggest hater." While its unlikely that Drake will offer up free information about himself that can be used against him later, he at least needs to acknowledge the bar in his response. Kendrick took a brutal shot at Drake's fatherhood in "Euphoria." This was an unforgettable moment in hip-hop battles when it was first brought to the public's attention: in "The Story of Adidon," Pusha T revealed that Drake has a child.  His son is named Adonis; he shares him with French artist and former adult film star Sophie Brussaux. "Y’all thinking my life is rap? That’s h- s---, I got a son to raise, but I can see you know nothing about that," Kendrick raps. Drake ultimately didn't respond to the diss track but confirmed he did have a child with Brussaux on "Emotionless" which samples Mariah Carey's "Emotion." "I wasn’t hidin’ my kid from the world/I was hidin’ the world from my kid/From empty souls who just wake up and looked to debate/Until you starin’ at your seed, you can never relate," Drake raps. Kendrick himself is also a father and shares two children Uzi and Enoch with his fiancée Whitney Alford.  While Drake didn't respond to Pusha T, he needs to at least have a fire bar in return for Kendrick so rappers can stop bringing up his family. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKhmK_SuK08

Unknowingly J. Cole and Drake's "First Person Shooter" began this rap civil war where Cole refers to himself, Drizzy, and Kendrick as hip-hop's "Big Three." Kendrick responded to Cole's claim on "Like That" crowning himself "f--- the big three/n---- it's just big me." On "Euphoria" Kendrick addresses it again by also bringing up Cole who later responded to Kendrick on "7 Minute Drill." The North Carolina rapper ultimately took himself out of the beef by taking the song off of streaming services and apologizing to Kendrick. "Cole and Aubrey know I'm a selfish guy, the crown is heavy/ I pray they my real friends, if not, I'm YNW Melly," Kendrick raps on "Euphoria" referencing YNW Melly, who is currently on trial for allegedly killing two of his best friends. There's a line off of  "Euphoria" that Drake needs to respond for two reasons. "Yeah my first one like my last one, this a classic, you don’t have one/ Let your core audience stomach that, then tell ’em where you get the abs from." J. Cole was actually the one to say Kendrick's last album wasn't a classic. But he withdrew himself from the beef, and Drake got that heat put on him. Drake needs to defend his discography at the very least. Another line Drake should respond to is Kendrick's line about Sexxy Red and how he "doesn't like women." "When I see you stand by Sexyy Red, I believe you see two bad bitches/ I believe you don't like women, it's real competition, you might pop a-- with 'em" While the Sexxy Red line is just Kendrick making fun of Drake and possibly hitting another surgical pun with the "pop a--" line, the misogny in Drake's lyrics speak for themself. In "Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50)" which is diss track aimed at Kendrick, and the host of other artists that have come for Drake in the past few weeks, Drizzy mentions Kendrick's fiancée Whitney Alfred. "I be with some bodyguards like Whitney/Top say drop, your little midget a-- better f----'" The line is a double entendre as it also refers to the late Whitney Houston and her lead role in the 1992 film The Boydguard. He's also come for other rapper's partners such as Pusha T's wife Virginia in "Duppy Freestyle," his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in "Fear of Heights" and Megan Thee Stallion in "Circo Loco." As Kendrick ends "Euphoria" he addresses the rumor that Drake has ghostwriters (which Meek Mill said about Drake in his diss track 2015 "Wanna Know"). "Ain’t 20 v. 1 it’s 1 v. 20 if I gotta smack n----- that write with ya." Throughout the song Kendrick questions Drake's Blackness because he is known to adopt different accents and cultures in his music but does not use his platform to have conversation on important Black issues. In the outro, Kendrick echos the sentiment that "We don’t wanna hear you say n---- no more" to denounce Drake using the culture as a marketing ploy.
