Beasley Fayetteville Raises Over $207k in 38th Annual St. Jude Radiothon

Beasley Fayetteville raised over $200,000 for the families of St. Jude this year.

Raising money for the families and children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has been a labor of love for the team at Beasley Fayetteville, and this year paid off in a big, big way.

Celebrating 38 continuous years of the Country Cares For Kids campaign, WKML and Sunny 94.3 combined to raise $207,273 to make sure we will see a day where no child dies from cancer.

“It’s such an honor for us to be able to help the families of St. Jude focus solely on loving on their children,” said Sarah Weaver, KML Programming Director. “Our community stepped up in a huge way to keep the incredible work of St. Jude going strong.”

The two-day radiothon kicked off Wednesday morning, with The Big Wake Up With Don Chase & Sarah telling stories of hope and inspiration. No family at St. Jude ever pays ANYTHING for treatment, and it’s because of the money raised during events like this. Throughout the day Wednesday and Thursday, Don and Sarah were joined with tag-teams of Minda Lou and KC Atkins on air.

We were proud to have on board our friends at Sunny 94.3, with Omega Jones hosting a St. Jude Radiothon for the first time!

“Our team showed just how much they care for these amazing children and families this year, and I couldn’t be more proud of them,” Weaver said. “The mission of St. Jude is near and dear to all our hearts, and it’s an honor to be able to support this cause on behalf of our amazing listening family.”

St. Jude is an important mission for our Beasley Fayetteville stations, because of the incredible work they do. The hospital in Memphis, Tenn. provides completely FREE medical care for children battling various pediatric cancers. The average patient treatment expense is $425,000, and families never have to pay a penny for any of that. It’s because of the incredible opening of your hearts and wallets that this is even a possibility.

Every child is a miracle, precious in his or her own way. That is why Danny Thomas founded St. Jude Children’s Hospital. He was determined to change the fate of children diagnosed with cancer and other diseases.
