Today is Sunday. July 30th 211th day of the year…154 left in 2023… 36 days until Labor Day
Today on Talkback we’ll hear from Pastor Chris Stackhouse of Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, along with Youth Ministry Coordinator Kiara Gieger – they’ll preview their upcoming Back to School VictoryFest. Fun for every member of the family! Free food and fellowship! Mark you calendar for 5 to 8pm on Saturday, August 12th- at the John Fuller Recreational Athletic Complex on Old Bunce Rd.
This was also the week of the Association of the United States Army – Fort Liberty Chapter – AUSA Warfighter Summit. We’ll hear the U.S.Army Commanding General of Training and Doctrine Command General Gary M. Brito describe how the Army is offering more than 200 military occupational specialties to new recruits, as a means to grow new soldier recruitment.
We’ll hear from Martin Issac – COO of Rekord Structures – one of many vendors on hand at the AUSA show – about how his company is creatively striving to meet always evolving challenges in its product offerings for an ever-developing fighting force. Keep listening.
But we lead off this episode of Talkback with big news for animal lovers in and around Cumberland County…and a big month in store for everybody!

Now in it’s 248th year, the U.S. Army is stronger than ever…and aims to keep that way. While retention rates of veteran soldiers are high, circumstances of the past several years, including COVID-19, have made attracting new recruits challenging. As Commanding General of the US Army’s Training and Doctrine Command, General Gary Brito addressed the issue – and the bold steps the Army is taking to solve the problem – to the membership of the AUSA in this past week’s Warfighter Summit.

The theme of this past week’s AUSA Warfighter summit and Expo was “America’s Army: Ready for Today and Modernizing for 2030 and beyond!” We at Talkback appreciate the candor of the Army in laying out it goals and assessments in a straightforward way.
And we’re equally impressed with the suppliers and vendors who bring their best to show their support and innovation they hope will benefit America’s brightest and best! As a representative military supplier, we spoke with Martin Isaac, Chief Operating Officer of Rekord Structures, a company that started in Poland, but is now an American firm based in Washington, Georgia! Providing a variety of rigorous tents, structures and buildings suitable for U.S. Military use!
