Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow in February, and the weather has been warm. So that means we are kick-starting spring, and the music that makes us move.
Now spring is great because of the weather, but being that your boy is allergic to grass and weeds, Pollen season isn’t really a highlight. Despite this spring is a great time for events and cleaning. Growing up my grandmother would get the big boombox out and play her tapes which would range from the classics like the Temptations, Luther Vandross to even country like Willie Nelson, but for this spring I think I need to play the classic hits that I grew up with.
Also keeping spring in mind I want to build a playlist for the car rides. Stuff that will get you hyped for the work days where instead of sitting in the office you’d rather be outside in the sun. Or if I’m in the backyard playing with the dog I can be perfectly covered with bops (and bug spray). I also like just music to work to. Things to help spur the creativity or focus. Things that can get you hyped and help the work day go by faster.
Now when it comes to DB’s throwback playlists which we will work a snazzy name for this is just a few of the hits I choose. Most of my playlists range into the 300s and more because I have to break it down by category and genre. But a top five is a solid way to get you going and hey these could just be on your playlist for the rest of the year. There is alot of hits but there are tons of deep cuts that I think should be played alot more. It’s crazy to think now that some of these songs are over 20 years old, as a 35 year old teenager I’m not prepared for it but such is life. Anyway let’s get to the Throwback hits for Spring 2024:
