Lil Uzi Vert single-handedly put hip-hop at the top this year by dropping their No. 1 album Pink Tape in July 2023. Prior to Pink Tape, no rap album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in 2023. The Pink Tape was led by “Just Wanna Rock,” which was also their first solo No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart. The project featured guest appearances from Travis Scott on “Aye,” Nicki Minaj on “Endless Fashion,” rock band Bring Me The Horizon on “Werewolf,” Don Toliver on “Patience,” and BABYMETAL on “The End.”
Since Uzi fans were able to bring Pink Tape to No. 1, the Philadelphia native promised that another project is in the works.
“Get this 2 number one, and I will drop the album y’all really looking for,” Uzi wrote alongside a photo of the album’s cover on their Instagram Story on Tuesday (July 4) weeks before Pink Tape’s arrival.

“Sitting here thinking bout how I went #1 on a experimental tape,” they wrote. “My apologies Barter 16 mixtape on the way.”
The release date for Barter 16 nor Luv is rage 3 which was the album they previously teased to be dropped has been announced.
Prior to Pink Tape, Uzi’s last studio album was released in March 2020 Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World 2 — the deluxe edition of Eternal Atake. Later that year he released a collab album with Future titled Pluto x Baby Pluto.
There was a three-year gap between the Pink Tape and Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World 2, which the rapper mentioned during his set at Rolling Loud Miami earlier this year. “I do make y’all wait a long time for music, and I’m so sorry. I thought that s— was cool before, but that s— is lame,” Uzi told the crowd.
Besides Uzi’s most recent release and their prior albums, they worked with Future and Don Toliver on two songs from the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack. Metro Boomin produced the film’s soundtrack, which was released in June.
In Uzi’s career so far, they have been nominated for three Grammys and have had one No.1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and seven top 10 hits on the chart.
