Shame On ‘Bachelorette’ Producers For Making Jenn Tran Watch Her Own Proposal After Getting Dumped. Was anyone else as angry as I was the other night watching The Bachelorette finale? Okay, I’ll admit, I didn’t watch much if at all this season. I’ve been busy and just didn’t have the time. Although I love Jenn as she has roots in Boston. She has lived, worked and gone to school here. I have been rooting for her to find love and until the finale aired this week, I though maybe had found it.

The Bachelorette finale proved once again that networks and shows will do anything for ratings. In case you missed the finale, Jenn proposed to Devin Strader in a romantic ceremony in Hawaii however as soon as they left and the cameras stopped rolling, things changed. Jenn says Devin stopped communicating with her, and their relationship went south very quickly. The two broke up and as you know, the show is taped months before the live finale. What happened next on the show was some of the most uncomfortable moments in live television history.

Jenn was forced to relive and watch her own proposal to Devin while sitting next to him on a couch in front of a live studio audience. In several instances, Jenn was seen crying hysterically as she watched and relived her nightmare. As much as we were all compelled to watch, it really was devastating and you couldn’t help but feel terribly for Jenn. It made me think, is this what we’re really doing for ratings? And I understand, yes I watched so yes I am a part of the problem. But it did make me realize that yes, we can all do better.

In the end, Jenn’s love story won’t end here. She has just been chosen as a contestant on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars. Hopefully this can give her some redemption as she will continue her story in front of a live audience and get the happy ending she very much deserves.

Dancing With the Stars will air Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with the episode available to stream the next day on Hulu.
