Eminem Plays A Big Part In The 3rd Episode Of ‘The Defiant Ones’
Detroit rapper Eminem, who had enough struggles trying to attack the scene for being a white MC, becomes a big name, and The Defiant Ones shows the behind the scenes moments.
A good chunk of the 3rd episode of The Defiant Ones shows the beginning of Eminem’s career, and he jokes that he was so nervous that he was soiling himself once he met Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine.
There’s old footage of Eminem during rap battles, and he talks about how he invited Eminem to his studio in his house, and how he put a sample together, which ended up being the drum beats for “My Name Is.”
Eminem began recording, and Em had an arsenal of raps, and you see both Dre and Eminem talking about their memories, and you can see how happy they are that they found each other and created these songs, because they both found that they were creating, as Dre says, “F****** magic.”
“My gut told me that Eminem was the artist that I’m supposed to be working with right now, ” says Dre. But he then said “But I didn’t know how many racists I had around me.”
Obviously, one of the things that Eminem had to overcome was haters because he was blonde hair and blue eyed. Eminem had just been evicted, and they became friends because of the things they both were going through. Even Jimmy felt that Eminem was clever, and trusted Dre to know if Eminem was worth the risk.
In 1999, Eminem won for “My Name Is,” and later on, created a pathway for 50 Cent as his protege, just like Dre did for Eminem. Em also said that he owes Dre his life.
It is rumored that Eminem is coming out with a new album, according to The Defiant Ones director Allen Hughes. Billboard reads “Dre still records… People don’t know this: Dre records every day. Literally, he’s in there recording songs every day. He’s like Picasso in that way. He’s always painting. Right now he’s producing, in the 11th hour, a track for Eminem’s latest album. So Dre’s still real active in music, you know?”
Though this is the first time we’ve heard of it, there’s no mention if it in the documentary as of right now.
