This Is Why Twitter Believes The 90s Was The Best Decade
The 90s was a one-of-a-kind, totally rad decade!
Maybe, I’m a bit biased. I was born in 1992 and by the end of that decade, there were a few things that stuck with me.
During the 90s, the United States was at peace with the world, the technology industry boomed with products, stars, like Britney Spears, NSYNC, and Gwen Stefani, and are still heard loud and clear today and people actually had to pick up the home phone to make plans.
Would you agree the 90s was the best decade in time? Do you miss television and movie hits, like 101 Dalmations, Power Rangers, Titanic and Nickelodeon’s CatDog? Do you remember that gas prices were under a buck and people had to get in their cars to rent a movie at Blockbuster? Thanks, Netflix. You bought them out real quick! Remember when people actually had to wait for things. Nothing was ever instant like it is today. As a kid, I remember running around the cul-de-sac with bare feet, jumping on the trampoline, and getting way too ecstatic about the jolly ‘ole music playing from the ice cream truck, not spending countless hours on social media. My friends and I would send notes to our crushes in class when our teacher wasn’t looking. Heads Up 7 Up and Freeze Tag were games we longed for at recess.
This is not to say the 21st Century, especially more recent years, is a letdown. It’s just that times have changed in BIG ways. Too many modern-day singers are simply one-hit-wonders, basic necessities are even more expensive, and ring pops are no more. (At least, they aren’t an obvious choice on store shelves).
So if you’re feeling nostalgic, join me for a trip down memory lane! Twitter is using the hashtag #90sWereTheBestBecause to express thoughts on the decade.
