Migos have had issues when it comes to embracing anything involving the LGBTQ community, and that goes from ILoveMakonnnen coming out as gay, and how that "undermined his street credibility," according to XXL. Not to mention the rumors that the team was not comfortable with working on the 'Saturday Night Live' set when Katy Perry brought them on, and even excluded any Drag Queens from the after party, even though they were part of the crew.
Well, the newest thing was the music video for the song "Boss Life," which is a song from YFN Lucci, which Offset appears on. The song, which has been out since December, but just caught more visibility for the video, he says "Pinky ring crystal clear, 40k spent on a private Lear/60k solitaire/I cannot vibe with queers."
Twitter is laying on the backlash for the lyrics, including pointing out that Cardi B's sister is actually a Lesbian, and this cannot be a good thing for either of them, let alone causing some residual backlash saying that this shows where Cardi B stands on gays as well.
Of course, Offset is trying to calm down the backlash, and apologizing, but we don't know if we buy it after all the other homophobic thoughts that have surrounded the Migos in the past year alone. Nobody uses this word in this fashion these days, Offset.
Do you think that Offset went too far? Or do you believe he didn't mean it?
