As we previously reported, Drake was booed at Tyler The Creator's Camp Flog Gnaw festival, over the weekend. Drake was the surprise headliner and he got booed because fans expected to see Frank Ocean.
Now, Tyler The Creator has spoken out about the event that he referred to as "trash." He took to Twitter saying, "I thought bringing one of the biggest artists on the f---ing planet to a music festival was fire! But flipside, a lil tone deaf knowing the specific crowd it drew," Tyler tweeted.
"Some created a narrative in their head and acted out like a--holes when it didn't come true and I don't f--- with that."
"This n---- did feel no ways! Song is beautiful. also, mostly everyone was having a great time, those sh--s in the front area were the ones being mad rude, which, I can see why, but, nah, f--- that. Y'all represented me and Flog to my guest and made us look sooo entitled and trash," Tyler continued.
Tyler then compared what transpired to "mob mentality" and "cancel culture," which he said is "f---ing trash," before praising Drake's song "Feel No Ways" from his 2016 album Views. Tyler also stated that Drake performed that song specifically for him and that he was happy to see their worlds merge "in theory."
"But hey man s--- happens. All jokes aside s--- lowkey funny. Hahahaha. Aside from that, hope everyone had a good time," Tyler continued. "Again, no arrest. No bulls---. Man, a lot of people enjoyed it. Thanks again!"
Tyler then thanked Drake and said that he was pissed because "Hotline Bling" was supposed to be performed next before Drake left the stage.
Tyler then tweeted about a fan who began crying while the chaos transpired at his festival before saying, "that s--- was not cool dawg."
Tyler The Creator ended his rant by saying that he hoped his fans had a chance to see Solange perform because it was "amazing."
And Drake took to Instagram to snarkily address what happened. "Plot twist...just signed a 10-year residency at Camp Flog Gnaw sorry kids see you EVERY SINGLE YEAR till you are 30," he wrote as the caption of his Instagram post.
R&B newcomer Summer Walker also had something to say about the situation. She shared one of Tyler The Creator's tweets on her Instagram story while writing, "X-F---ING-XACTLY I swear y'all "fans" so f---ing disrespectful. Who tf BOOS DRAKE?"
