Kanye West Has Launched A College Fund For George Floyd’s Daughter

Kanye West is putting his fame and fortune to good use. Per Page Six, the rapper has launched a 529 college fund for Gianna Floyd, George Floyd's 6-year-old daughter.

According to Fidelity, "A 529 plan is a tax-advantaged savings account designed to be used for the beneficiary's education expenses." They add that the money can be used in several ways, including for college expenses, K–12 tuition, certain apprenticeship costs, and even student loan repayments.

Kanye West has also donated $2 million to the families and legal teams to support not only George Floyd but also Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor.

To recap, Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed while jogging in Georgia by three men who thought he was a burglary suspect. Breonna Taylor was murdered in her home by Louisville police after the officers broke in to execute a "no-knock warrant."

Page Six adds that Kanye has also recently donated to various black-owned businesses across the nation.
