Kim Kardashian missed the dress code memo for a birthday party and showed up in a full-body Halloween costume. Over the weekend, the SKKN founder showed up to a fancy dinner party for Tracee Ellis Ross' 50th birthday as the blue-skinned X-Men character, Mystique. No one else at the party dressed up, so Kim stuck out even more.

The 42-year-old reality star took the hilarious moment in stride, posting a selfie with the birthday girl to her Instagram Stories, writing, "That time I showed up to a birthday dinner in full costume when it wasn't a costume party! Happy Birthday to the most beautiful kind soul @traceeellisross."

Ross looked stunning in a cherry red gown with a matching off-the-shoulder jacket and accessories. Since the Kardashians are known for going all-out on Halloween, Kim made no exception when it came to her friend's birthday party. Kim wore a blue textured catsuit, heels and matching face makeup. She wore a slicked-back red wig and yellow contacts to complete the look.

Kim also posed with friends Olivia Pierson and Natalie Halcro, captioning their looks, "Magik, Mystique, Selene."

Kim isn't the only one who went the X-Men route this Halloween. Chloe Bailey dressed up as Storm, while Keke Palmer did an amazing Rogue. See their costumes and other amazing celebrity costumes below:

Celebrities go above and beyond when it comes to dressing up for Halloween. They have a bigger budget than us normies and they use that to come up with some really elaborate costumes, with prosthetics and props. Some go for the comedic route (like Lizzo's Marge Simpson) while others pay tribute to icons (Lori Harvey as Beyonce). It's always fun to see what they come up with.
